When I first met Liz, I knew right off the bat we would get along. She was sweet and fun and so relaxed. All of these qualities carried over to Liz and Adam's Wedding day. Set on a hot summer day in their Ramsey, Minnesota backyard, the casual feel made all of their guests feel welcome. Pull up a chair and enjoy this beautiful Summer wedding! |
The girls gathered around and Liz got into her stunning wedding gown. Just a beaded waistband adorn the dress, fitting Lizs personality perfectly. As her friends laughed with her, this gorgeous Bride came together, dress, jewelery and shoes. Of course Liz chose a simple pair of blue flip flops for the day. |
With her Mom watching on, her beautiful daughter was ready for the final touch...a lovely teardrop necklace. Her Mom placed the necklace around her neck, holding back her emotions as much as she could. These two had such a special bond it was easy for me to capture their love. As the girls finished up it was time to bring Dad in to see his little girl, ready for her new adventures. |
Off we traveled to a beautiful wooded park in Champlin. The morning rain had finally stopped and the skies started to brighten. As the sun made an appearance, the humidity started creeping up. Back in the woods though, the coolness still hung on as the birds serenaded the couple. A long boardwalk appeared through the trees as moss stained the wood green. A lovely setting for Liz and Adam's Bridal portraits. |
The Flower Girls and Junior Bridesmaid were so excited to be a party of the wedding party but Patrick wasn't quit sure. I made sure he felt comfortable with the camera and gave him a few little jobs so he knew he was very important in the wedding too. He concentrated very hard when we walked toward me, holding the rings tightly. How cute he was in his jeans and cowboy boots! |
And then it was time! Time for the beautiful Bride to make her way down the isle. Her Father waited for her at the bottom of the step as she walked out onto the deck, overlooking the entire ceremony. Her Dad was all smiles as he took his Daughters hand and brought her into the grass. Adam looking on as Liz walked toward him, soon to be his Wife. |
As the sunlight fluttered through the leaves of the tall trees, Liz and Adam stared into each others eyes as the Priest spoke of love and loyalty. Holding hands most of the ceremony, they smiled at each other lovingly as they took the first steps toward a new adventure together in life, right in their own slice of heaven...their own backyard. |
Surrounded by Family, we captured special family portraits and some fun candids of the special bond that they all share. I'm so happy that the weather cleared up for this family. The night before, Adam's family suffered great loss to their home in Turtle Lake, Wisconsin. His parents homested was hit by a tornado, losing their barn and tremendous damage to their newly built home and property. But this didn't get their spirts down. |
The wedding party was small but gave wonderful support to this couple on their special day. The dresses were each a different color and style to compliment each girl and the flowers coordinated beautifully with the dresses. A family friend, Jodi, did a wonderful job on the floral arrangements and bouquets. The Flower Girls in flowy, light blue summer dresses and the Junior Bridesmaid in the same flowy dress of yellow. |
Shooting this joyous day was such a pleasure. Liz and Adam's family and friends were so sweet and ready to celebrate these two. It was like hanging out at a family reunion, everyone chatting in groups, catching up on the latest activities of family members. The kids were running around and playing, dancing and having fun as the sun sunk low in the sky over the backyard. Liz had a large group of family members who made a special trip from Michigan to celebrate this special occasion. We had to make sure we captured a few group photos of everyone from that side of the family. |
I will say this wedding reminded me so much of our family weddings when I was growing up. The kids all having fun, the parents hanging out chatting and the comfortable feel of just enjoying the moment. No fancy ballrooms, formal dinners or stiff dresses. Just hanging out, having a beer and eating good food! |
